Your condominium will be supplied with beach towels. It will not however be stocked with beach equipment. Too often items break or go missing and it is not feasible to track and replace the items. Sullivan Properties, Inc firmly believes in recycling & lowering the carbon footprint we leave on this planet! If items are purchased or acquired by guests and are still in good condition, we are happy to leave them in the unit for others to enjoy. If they are extremely dirty or broken, we must toss them out. There are places nearby that rent beach amenities – your property might also have an onsite rental shack. Most of the rental places nearby offer daily or weekly rates. Please note, we are not endorsing these companies simply providing the more popular options in the area : Snorkel Bobs in the Kahana Gateway Center, Boss Frogs in the Napili Plaza and Boss Frogs in Kahana Manor. Nana Enterprises for baby equipment rentals – this includes baby beach toys and other beach necessities for children. For more details and information check them out on the web!

Kapalua’s beauty can be enjoyed through hikes, restaurants and gorgeous beaches. The hiking trails at Kapalua range from easy to extremely difficult! Enjoy the ease of the Kapalua Coastal Trail, the Village Trails or the very difficult Mahana Ridge Trail. Kapalua is home to some of Maui’s best restaurants.

What a great experience

September 2019

Overall
5

We stayed in the F4 property this past week and we were very pleased. All essential appliances were included in the apartment which reduced any stress we had regarding laundry or dishes. The property is also well equipped with games, books, kitchen utensils, sanitary items, and towels, so there is no need to pack extra. Also, the ocean was literally right in front of the porch, which gave a unique aspect to booking this property rather than a hotel. The soothing wave noises at night put us right to sleep! The view of the sunset was clear and beautiful every evening, and turtles consistently rested on the beach at night. The water is warm and good for swimming and body boarding, but it is not suitable for snorkeling. However, the Kahekili Beach Park is a five minute drive away and has an amazing reef if you are interested in seeing Hawaii's unique marine life. Overall a great experience and would book here again!

A Hidden Jewel

We have been to the Kahana Sunset for two weeks now, four years apart and absolutely love it! It is so private and the snorkeling right in front is absolutely perfect. I went out snorkeling right in front of the complex (in the rocks to the North you can see in the photos) for two hours on my last trip and saw 18 large turtles (200 to 400 lbs) plus tons of fish. I would recommend that you spend the extra money to be in a or F building, it is so dreamy to look right out and see the ocean. On the other hand, a less expensive unit in the Sunset is better than an expensive one in some of the other complexes, so if you are on a tight budget, don't hesitate. Also, you can save a lot of money by simply cooking in the nicely maintained barbeques while the kids swim in the ocean, then picnic on your lanai. The grounds are beautiful and very nicely maintained and the two units we stayed in were gorgeous (they were the two most expensive in the complex), but still less than a plain old hotel room at some of the resorts. The location, for us, is ideal, since we like to surf, snorkel and golf and we love Lahania and Napili. If I could move here, I would. You should realize that I checked "excellent" on the "service" category below, but there really isn't any service -- we had the key code e-mailed to us and there was no maid service for the entire week. We knew this in advance so it is no problem, but you should realize that you need to launder your own towels, sheets, etc., if you can't go for an entire week. We have always had a washer/dryer in our room, so no problemo.

Great view

Great location. One unit rented was nicely furnished the other needed lot of help in kitchen, since we had 2 condos managed to get by fine. F6 was short of trying pan and seving bowel etc. We had great stay as usual. Will be back.

Great location and unit

June 2016

The waterfront location of all units in buildings A and F is better than virtually any other non-high-rise that we know of on Maui. (Parts of Napili Kai come close, but at a higher price.) Being such a small complex on what is essentially it's own private beach (due to no realistic public access) could make the other units here, in buildings B through E, acceptable for those who are on a tighter budget, since the waterfront is so close. Air conditioning, however, is needed and evidently is not available in all units. This unit, F4, has a great view of both the little beach and out over the water of Molokai and also has effective AC both upstairs and downstairs. Using the AC downstairs has one nuance, which is that the unit for turning on and off the AC doesn't work well from it's cradle in the wall; it works much better when taken out of that cradle. We did have one cockroach (a common issue in Hawaii) and the property managers promptly had someone come and spray the suspect locations and we didn't see another through the rest of our five days there. While we loved staying in this unit and probably will return, two items that might bother some is that the master bed is on the soft side (which might have been due to a pillow top mattress cover) and the area in front of the little living room is an open walkway, so there isn't much privacy. The units in other buildings, including A, have more privacy in this regard. We liked how F4 is furnished (tasteful but not overly full of stuff).
