As usual a great vacation with a twist. Shortly before our vacation we had a notice. For some reason our unit that we had booked had to be taken out of there pool.Well okay. But at no extra charge we moved you up to the two that okay. ? Yes. Thats okay and again thanks for a great time. Ive dealt with Sullivan for 35 years and they are the best. James

Kahana Sunset is set in a lovely location and we love catching the humpback whales activity while they winter there. It’s also amazing to watch the giant turtles, also right at Kahana Sunset. We do miss the expansive beach of years gone by, but the wide staircase still allows access to the limited beach. The pool temperature was perfect this year! And the grounds and gardens are better than ever!

Overall, we had a very good experience with our rental. It is older, and we believe the condo is outdated in terms of the furniture and decorations. The air conditioning was excellent and the location and view are both excellent as well. It was very nice to have some beach chairs and beach toys that were left by previous guests. My wife and I both agreed that the mattresses were all very old and worn down. However, having large beds in both rooms was very nice.

We rented D2 at the Kahana Sunset this summer. The condo is well equipped and had everything we needed. Everything was clean and well maintained. The Kahana Sunset is a beautiful setting and a lovely place to relax and rejuvenate. Lance, the groundskeeper seems to work 24 hours a day and keeps everything clean, functioning, and pleasing. I will definitely be back!

We absolutely love Kahana sunset D2. Our 2nd stay and will not be our last. Both balconies had a beautiful view. Both of the beds were comfortable and the AC was a bonus!! Perfect spot to come back to after a day at the beach.

Beautiful view and stay. All amenities needed were there and a very quiet community. Didn’t have any issues besides there were small insects in the kitchen counter. We just made sure to put everything in the fridge. Very clean and nice host. Thank you.

Everything was clean and I have no complaints overall. Two things I wish they would improve. One: the Knives are VERY VERY Dull to the point of being hard to prep food with. Two: the grills need work. They do not get hot enough to properly sear food

We very much enjoyed our month at Kahana Sunset. The grounds are very well-kept and the pool is magnificent! The beach is very small and the waves are sometimes quite large, wiping out the entire beach. When the waves are not extremely high though, the beach is really fun. There are plenty of lounge chairs for everyone and lots of places to set up, whether you like sun or shade. The groundskeepers were always working, keeping the grass and gardens very nicely. The condo unit itself was quite adequate, although it could use updating. Would have been nice to have a powder room on the main floor as our daughter used the sofa bed in the living room and had to go upstairs in the middle of the night to use the washroom. Kitchen was well-equipped although we could have used a kettle for tea. Furniture and beds were quite comfortable. The resort is not within walking distance of any stores or restaurants. You have to have a car, which we did. I don't know how many times we drove Highway 30 into Lahaina for activities and supplies. We had to go to another hotel for concierge services as Sullivan Properties used to have someone on-site but they no longer do. Communication was really well-done with detailed directions provided before our arrival. Water was turned off for repairs one afternoon but no big deal. Overall, we very much enjoyed our stay and didn't want to leave!

The property grounds and pool were beautiful, just as described. We had a great view of the ocean and watched the turtles and gorgeous sunsets. Our door key pad quit functioning luckily during business hours and within a few minutes the property staff was there to fix it. All the property staff were friendly and professional making our stay enjoyable.
Our only concern was there was a Gatorade bottle left under the bed from the last guests. We also hoped that all the bedding not just the linens were changed, clean and fresh as the tenants in the condo next to us were sick for five days making us wonder of the sanitation making us hopeful those things were taken into consideration.
Overall the property, condo and staff were excellent. We stayed with our sister and brother-in-law for their fortieth wedding anniversary and it will be one for them to remember.

We really enjoyed our time in Maui. The property was great and comfortable although AC unit would have been nice, especially in the smaller room without sliding door.

Had a great stay here. Appreciated the great communication between Kelly. We got a lot of info from her before our trip to make sure we were well informed of the check in process/how to get there/etc. Maui was pretty humid at the time, and there wasn’t much wind. But the property had a lot of fans provided in the unit to help out. Location was great, just a couple minutes from some shopping and food areas, and a short drive to Lahaina.

Kahana Sunset was the perfect place for our Maui getaway, scenery is very serene and beautiful, place feels very exclusive with our own private beach, kids really enjoyed it, they get to snorkel and see a lot of fishes and turtles too! Definitely staying here again!

I had not stayed at Kahana Sunset for about 15 years and was pleasantly surprised that it was as great a place to stay on Maui as ever! The landscaping has matured and is well maintained. The pool was in great shape and it was the first time that we have seen giant green turtles at the shore! It’s always been quiet and restful day and night, and still is! I would recommend it to anyone!

The unit was well furnished, had a nice view, and is part of a quaint condo complex with a nice courtyard, pool, small beach, and other amenities. We found the lack of AC in the unit ok, but sleeping with the windows open in the back bedroom meant the birds outside would wake anyone in there up around sunrise and leaving the sliding door in the front bedroom open was a little uncomfortable. My only real issue may just be a fact of staying in Hawaii, but we came across 3 lizards in the unit during our stay (2 in the first 24 hours) and there were little ants sporadically around. They did quarterly pest control in the unit during our stay, but the ants didn't disappear entirely.

The island is beautiful, relaxing and fun. The condo was amazing. Although it was just myself and my husband there was room for the entire family. We will bring the kids next time.

The people are very nice, both the guests and the employees. The location and scenery are fabulous. The property overall is very nice. This unit could use some updating. Everything went off without a hitch

This was a perfect two weeks at Kahana sunset. The condo was situated in a perfect location. Loved that after a long day of activities on the island we could back up right next to the unit without having to haul our things too far.
The view from the unit was beautiful and loved sitting or laying on the lanai, looking out at the stars at night and grounds and ocean during the day. Had everything we needed to make the trip complete. All items needed for cooking and bbq at sunset. Better seat than any outside restaurant dining right at the condo site. Beautiful! And of course the turtles and our own beach. Pool was perfect size to cool off and relax

Love the location of the property and how it has its own private beach I think the one thing missing from d5 is a full size oven. I have stayed here more than a dozen times and it's always great. I hope they are able to fix the sinkhole that formed by the lanai while we were there.

Main floor furnishings need to be updated and the retractable awning has been broken for two years and needs to be repaired or replaced. Other than that the accommodation was fantastic.

These condos were amazing. It's so nice to have space and comforts of home. Both bedrooms have their own bathrooms counter space and mirrors. The Washer and Dryer were extremely helpful. The View The View is breath taking, from the living room deck and the master suite deck . Honestly the floors were not the cleanest but also not the worst either. I would and have highly recommend staying here.

This unit was absolutely perfect for our family of 4! We had all the amenities we could need for our 10 day stay in Maui. I loved the view, not only was it beautiful but also so nice to be able to see my family down at the pool while I was up at the condo. The unit was immaculately clean!

The condos are very nice and comfortable. The view of the ocean is fabulous. The complex is usually quiet, our neighbors had several youngsters for a week this trip. Otherwise no wild parties keeping us up. The cost is good for the value.

We stayed at Kahana sunset B7 at the end of June. The resort was full but there was always a place to park and plenty of lawn chairs available. B7 unit was clean, spacious, and comfortable for our family of 6. We appreciated the full kitchen and washer/dryer. The kitchen has a coffee pot and blender and is stocked with most pots,pans, and utensils. The unit was stocked with dishwasher pods, dish soap, washer soap, and 1 roll of paper towel. There was plenty of toilet paper for our 11 night stay. There were spices left from previous owners. It does not have a pizza pan or pizza cutter. When we left it had 4 boogie boards, 1 skim board, and 6 beach mats. We saw many turtles and one came up on the beach every evening to rest on beach. Everyone we met was very friendly and many families have been coming back for years. We enjoyed our day at Kahana Sunset.

Unit was as depicted online. Very nice layout; very nicely updated. We would stay in this unit again. So much good cannot list it all. High points were the immaculate care of the resort grounds, the view, private sandy beach, and well maintained pool. BBQ grills appeared brand new. Parking spaces within feet of door to condo. Some of Maui's (and U.S.) beaches within 15 minute drive (Napili Bay, Slaughterhouse). Not bad but worth mentioning: when A/C running, top deck unusable due to A/C unit exhaust right on deck. In summary, the resort is very 70ish looking but Unit B7 feels brand new with all the upgrades and the property grounds were impeccable.

Kahana Sunset is a great development with perfectly situated buildings around a community core of pool/grills/beach. The beach access is steps away and did have turtles on the north side on several occasions. Many people gather to watch the beautiful sunsets over the ocean each evening and use the community grills. Kids meet up at the pool and on the grounds while playing and lizard hunting. Unit B7 has great views of the common area and the beach. The unit is remodeled nicely and came stocked with basic supplies (hair dryer, TP, soap, laundry soap, etc). There were some sand mats and a boogie board in the unit when we were there and we left some pool noodles as well. We had every kitchen tool we wanted for except some grill tongs, but we used regular metal kitchen tongs. The bed in the master does sag a bit, kinda hard to tell if it's a memory foam or just older, so if you are a stomach sleeper you want to keep to the middle of the bed! Patio furniture is worn, but every unit had the same stuff that we saw. Showers and towels provided were great, W/D worked well. Each room has an A/C with remote which worked well, we barely used it though, choosing to leave the doors open when home to hear the ocean waves. Several folks we met had been there many times and returned over and over, highly recommended! Sullivan properties who manage B7 were very helpful, providing all info and calling ahead of our trip to make sure we had the key codes. The gate code provided is for the gate/door to down to the common area/pool/beach, so you need that too. Parking was easy and always available. We had a great time and would stay again for sure! Napili and Kapalua bays are a few minutes north and have great snorkeling, Napili Market is 2 mins away and has everything you need. Joey's Kitchen is excellent Filipino food right in the market shopping center as well. Weds/Saturday farmers market across the main road from the Napili Market has nice stalls with food, jewelry and other hand made products. Lahaina is 20 minutes away for more towny stuff, try the Bakery!

We had a wonderful stay under the warm Hawaiian sun. The condo itself was lovely, very clean, and well equipped, with two balconies offering stunning views. The beds were comfortable, and the entire place felt quiet and relaxing — perfect for unwinding.

We did experience an issue with the air conditioning, but as soon as we called, a technician arrived within 30 minutes. He completed the necessary maintenance and solved the problem in less than three hours. After that, the AC worked perfectly for the rest of our stay, which we truly appreciated.

The kitchen had most of what we needed, but a few basic essentials were missing, such as salt and pepper, cooking oil, aluminum foil, and maybe a small cooler bag. We also noticed there were only four forks available. None of these were major issues, but adding these small items would make the experience even better for future guests.

Overall, we had an excellent stay and truly enjoyed our time here. We would definitely come back without hesitation.

This is our second year in a row at unit B7. We love everything about this unit! One suggestion would be to either update or deep clean the front room couch and matching chairs. They are definitely showing their wear.

We enjoyed our time at Kahana Sunset very much. Great central location. Property is very well maintained and the unit was very clean.
The beach area is rather small, esp at high tide, but there are several fabulous beaches that are a few minutes (by car) in either direction. From the property, we were able to see whales out in ocean, and sea turtles and crabs right at the shore. We'd gladly go back there on our next trip to Maui.

Our stay at Kahana Sunset was very enjoyable. My family has stayed their many times over the years. The unit was clean and well appointed. Some of the issues where the ice maker didn't work, there were only 3 spoons, and the screen door down stairs needs replaced. I called in a service request to unclog the master bath sink and fix the noisy AC unit down stairs. They came to unclog the sink the next morning. The wall mounted AC down stairs made this continuous loud 4 BUZZ sounds almost every hour, 24 hours a day. When I mentioned this to the service person, they didn't sound very encouraging that it would get fixed. When the person checked in with us the day before we left, we mentioned it again but we got push back. That said we didn't let those things bother us and we had a great time. The unit is as advertised and we would stay there again.

Kahana Sunset is in a wonderful location and the grounds are impeccable. This particular unit is in my opinion quite dated and need some overall maintenance to bring it up to a satisfactory condition. Screen doors are very old icemaker was broken. Air conditioner is dripping downstairs and making loud noises Pans are quite dated as is silverware carpet is extremely dirty fan in master bedroom does not work. Internet didn’t work all week so we use the unit that we also rented next-door. overall, in my opinion, I think a small amount of money and maintenance could improve this unit substantially.

Check in and the stay was great! The only downside were the bed was a little lumpy and the kitchen was limited in utensils and basic spices. But great clean condo and amazing location. Will be back again.

We loved our stay here. The description was accurate. It was a fun and relaxing condo. Not too large not too small! Highly recommend.

Kahana Sunset, Unit B7 was the perfect spot for our group of 7. Conveniently located just blocks of Napali Market/small restaurants, and Napili Bay--with fabulous tide pools and snorkeling. The grounds are impeccably maintained, with a variety of lush, tropical flowers. There's even an herb garden for use by guests, which gave us fresh parsley and cilantro for our dinner one night. The pool consists of a large pool and kid's pool. During our stay, an adjacent property had a mudslide, so the small bay was muddy and unswimmable. We had lots of beaches on our itinerary however, so it wasn't really a big deal to us.

The layout of the condo was great: Entering the front door, there's an updated powder room on the right, and staircase to the upper floor. Beyond are the beautiful kitchen and open-concept family room with queen sized Murphy bed, and with glass doors allowing views of the spacious patio and gorgeous ocean beyond. Up the stairs, they fork at the landing with the right going to an ensuite guest bedroom, and the left to the master bedroom. The guest bedroom has queen and twin beds, wall-mounted TV, vanity, built-in dresser, small closet space, and beautifully updated bathroom/shower. The master has a closet with stacked washer/dryer, large vanity, and bathroom with stunning rain shower. The bedroom itself is extremely specious with what I believe is a Cal King bed, nightstands, dresser and full closet. The glass slider leads to a second full-sized balcony with lounge chairs where we enjoyed our
morning coffee and exceptional ocean views.

We like to cook while on vacations, so I'll say that the kitchen was moderately stocked. There were loads of glasses, but only 4 plates and a couple of bowls...but most of the basics were there. The area is safe, and there were always plenty of parking spots. We couldn't have had a better stay, and Sullivan Properties made it effortless to check in and out. We will defin

Fleming beach, snorkeling at beautiful Honolua Bay, dinner and shopping in Lahaina, our favorite shave ice truck, Coconut Caboose. I can walk to Napili Market for groceries or a coffee at Napili Coffee and the farmers market across the highway.

To top it off, the grounds at Kahana Sunset are enough on their own! Gorgeous lush foliage, well-maintained salt-water pool, clean, grassy ocean-front lawn, lots of well-maintained bbq’s to grill up our own fresh dinners, it’s own private beach, sea turtles, some rocks to snorkel, and a little cove to paddle board in! And the condo is just steps to all this!

We called-in this repair on the first day of our week stay, but it hadn't been repaired before we left.

Our family of five has been going to Kahana Sunset for years. We love the chill vibe, access to the ocean right at your doorstep, a chill vibe and spacious units. We’ve stayed in B, C and E buildings but prefer B. This unit was nicely renovated and was well taken care of. Another great stay!

This unit was a perfect get away with awesome views of the beach, water and the beautiful Maui sunsets! The property is very well kept.

This was our fifth trip to Kahana Sunset in the last five years and our second stay in B-7. The accommodations were awesome the unit was very clean and the view spectacular. We have already booked for next year. Can't wait.

Everything was very nice & clean. We would definitely try 2 rebook the same VRBO. Perfect location & nice private beach.

90 minutes waiting to get into condo (past the 3pm checkin time)

upstairs patio hard to use with the hot air blowing on you from the AC unit

the utensil container in the dishwasher was moldy

positive: master bathroom toilet overflowed all over bathroom and sink floor, leaking thru ceiling to lower entrance hallway. Called Sullivan and it was fixed within 45 minutes.

We have staying in Maui at several different locations over the course of many years. First time at Kahana Sunset. Location was great, with close proximity to Napili , Kapalua, D.T. Fleming and local eateries. Small, private beach in front of the complex was such a treat. The unit comfortably slept my family of 4. Having the split system A/C was a bonus as many of the units in this complex have none.

This property is a fantastic place to stay. Amazing views and the beach access was the best. The unit is updated and stocked with everything you need. Great experience.

We love the Sunset and have been many times. We really liked this condo and the view was great! We wish the couch/chairs and carpets had been a little cleaner, but overall we enjoyed our stay and would stay here again. Some kitchen items missing but Sullivan properties replaced them.

Unfortunately our original Condo that we had booked was closed due to seawall damage. Sullivan properties relocated us into the beautiful B7. I would have appreciated them notifying me of the change earlier, however B7 was very accommodating for the four of us. Beds were comfortable, unit was clean, air-conditioning was a blessing, kitchen could have used slightly more pots and pans and at least some salt and pepper. Sea turtles were basking in the sun on the beach and whales could be seen from the lawn.

I've been to Maui many times and always stay at the Kahana Sunset.
